History
Avant-Garde
Family and Laboratory Services, was "born"
in March 2003. It
was founded by Inez Clarke McIntosh out of a desire
to offer cutting edge
services to Families and Medical Laboratories. The
Family Services are geared to
enrich and strengthen the lives of individuals and
their families, while the Laboratory
Services are to provide commonly used reagents at
the lowest possible cost.
The
seemingly strange marriage between Family
Services and Laboratory
Services is as a result
of Mrs. McIntosh appreciation of and vast experiences
in both fields.

Biography
Mrs. Inez Clarke-McIntosh, M.A, M Sc., CFLE
Mrs.
McIntosh gained secondary education at the St. Elizabeth
Technical High School and became Head Girl in her
final year there. She did her Bachelor's Degree at
the University of the West Indies (U.W.I.) in the
Applied Sciences, majoring in Biochemistry and a minor
in Zoology. Her love for Humanity led her to do a
Masters Degree in Sociology with special emphasis
in Social Psychology, again at the U.W.I.
With
the family seemingly in crisis at the global level
she felt the need to understand in details how the
Family "works" (Family Dynamics / Processes),
with a view to join the thousands of professionals
world wide who are trying to enrich family life and
stop the "bleeding" where ever and whenever
possible. This led her to complete a Masters Degree
in the Human Services with special emphasis on Family
Life Education at the Concordia University, St. Paul,
Minnesota. Having completed this course, she was privileged
to become Certified (provisional) by the American
based National Council on Family Relations (NCFR)
as a Family Life Educator (CFLE). Mrs. McIntosh is
also currently a Member of the NCFR. She keeps abreast
with the latest happenings in Family Life as it relates
to research and useful discoveries internationally.
She
worked for over 10 years as a microbiological analyst
at the Bureau of Standards, Jamaica, and was the food
microbiologist on several audit teams assessing food
safety practices in the food manufacturing sector
in accordance with International standards regulations.
Her experiences as an applied scientist and auditor
have sharpened her skills as an assessor/ researcher
on family life issues. Her seminars and workshops
are therefore relevant and practical and geared towards
meeting individuals' needs.
